The realization of a company’s strategy depends on countless employees. So, it’s no surprise that when a strategy fails, the reason cited is usually poor execution. Proper execution depends on everyone knowing the company goals and the role they play in meeting them. Successful strategy implementation, however, is more than breaking down company goals to an individual level. Instead, it’s about establishing KPIs to help every employee and every manager know daily where they stand in achieving success.

While a mediocre strategy that’s well-executed is better than a great strategy with poor execution, a great strategy with perfect execution is ideal. An important facet of good execution that is often overlooked is minimal customer disruption. Fewer delivery time changes, and really any changes, especially for your best customers, result in minimal customer complaints as you execute a new strategy.
